Mountain men will demonstrate their skills and spin tales of the past at encampments
throughout the ranch. Peruvian Paso horse shows and a “Carousel
of Horses,” including Lipizzaner, Arab, Pure Spanish and more. John Carson, Kit
Carson’s great-great grandson, will do a Chautauqua presentation as Kit both days.
Flint-knapping, hide tanning, and other hands-on fun for the whole family. All
museum exhibits will be open; food available.

"New Mexico Roundup: Heroes and Villains from the Past"
August 14-15 from 10 am - 4 pm

Interact one-on-one with some of the most famous and infamous characters in New Mexico's history. Play a hand of Monte with Dona Tules, visit with Kit Carson as he skins a beaver and talks about life on the frontier, visit with Susan Magoffin during her last years, take a picture with Billy the Kid, meet Pat Garrett, Old Bill Williams, Lew Wallace, Rafael Chacon, Buffalo Soldiers and many others...Look into the face of history!
